Interesting glow plug timer

Well, as of late, between a couple friends of mine, and work, I've been delving deep into the world of GM 6.2's and 6.5's.
I was poking around Peninsular's site this morning and stumbled across this:

It's halfway down the page.
Adjustable glow time, manual override, looks like a pretty interesting piece that wouldn't be too hard to retrofit into either IDI glow plug system.
I'm half tempted to buy one and try it out, even though my current plan is only to have the 'ol girl as backup transportation, so, my old pusbutton setup is just fine.

I really liked the idea and clicked the link to give it a shot. 92 bucks is cheap compared to new ss controls (at least from the dealership), but I dont think I should be spending a 100 bucks on a "test" at the moment, michelle would likely cease my walking ability.

there are lots of adjustable timers on the internet, dont know how well they are sealed, but are pretty cheap

But don't we need a "smart" timer that takes ambient temperature into account?
