Intake manifold gaskets on Amazon

I check Amazon and Rock Auto from time to time to see if they have intake manifold gaskets back in stock, and it looks like Amazon finally does:

For those who haven’t been following, these all went out of stock back in 2020 and for a while you couldn’t get them anywhere. CDD and some others started selling nice versions for $130+, but now it looks like cheaper options might become available again.

I may be looking at this wrong, but they're just thin pieces of tin. How bad can they be?
If I was working on a IDI project instead of a 302, I'd buy one just to see. Since I'm working 24 hour weeks right now, I'm not going to spend the money to buy one.

Anyway needing a part that's n.l.a. does away with choices often.
I get mad every time I go to get shovelhead parts...

It is a stamped steel one, buddy of mine took his out and welded a hole shut then put it back in, still doesn't leak.

I would imagine demand is very low for new valley pans, hence the lack of availability. I recently was trying to find the best deal on one and all I could find were CDD and Accurate Diesel actually having them in stock. Shipping was expensive too--I assume because of the size rather than weight.

Year ago last July when dug down to the Hyd Valve lifters, and put it back
together all the way to the IP.
I verrry carefully removed the VP with a thin Putty Knife to cut through the RTV,
and was able to clean it up and reuse it.
It was pretty rusted, but not rusted through. Cleaned it up, treated with Phosphoric
acid, and painted with POR.

I do have a spare I salvaged from PNP a few years back thats in ok? condition.

That area under the Manifold never gets cleaned out, Mouse/Rat poop, dirt leaves,
Diesel, etc... accumulate under along with moisture. There is a Drain at the back but
not very large, and gets plugged up.

Wouldn`t hurt to have a couple of the new ones on hand as long as they are available.
My luck they will cut the price in 1/2 after I buy them....

From what I remember, they didn't, but they did add some extra holes for oil drainage.

Did it have the baffle on the bottom? All the pictures that I have seen show no baffle?
