INJECTORS ,backordered till 4th quarter AGAIN

SO ,just got off the phone with my supplier, and another warehouse that I used to be in, and Dave at pensacola. New injectors are 4 months out.

I have enough to cover all who have purchased, at least I will when UPS picks up the last delivery that went to an address 45 miles from me. IDIOTS


In talking with David at pensacola he is out of new also, and cant get them, he has 600 on backorder.
As far as their remans,
He said they have the tips reconditioned at an outside shop and get the bodies reblued, then they set the pressure and so on.

Sounds like a decent job, I am ordering some remans to see the patterns and he said if I dont like them let him know but he is certain they will be comparable to the new ones.

Sad thing is this is happening way to often to be comfortable.

I currently own three sets of BBs and 7 Gs.

I'm starting to think the rebuilts are better anyway if they're gonna hold they're pop setting longer. Seems like you have to rebuild you're new ones a time after they're in anyway. Maybe it'd be good to buy some new ones and put in some broke in springs, set the pop and be good for a while.

A shimmed broken in spring in a new injector sounds like the way to go but remember.... We usually get around 100,000 miles before a set has worn out the nozzles. Its really too bad we can't sourse a location for an affordable needle and nozzle. Then rebuilding and shimming our sets would be an easy job.

I haven't had any problems yet, but we will find out soon. I just ordered 16 more. In all likelyhood my supply will dry up also, as it did with yours Russ last year.

That certainly WAS NOT my experience with Pensacola.

Set of remaned G codes, nothing but crap, spit out nothing but rust when I checked the pop pressure. Returned them 20% restock plus $12 shipping.

Set of NEW BB code, pop tested anywhere from 1200 to 1400. Reset the PP to 2100. Installed in OnDaRoad IDI. Rechecked them Sunday, after IIRC 8000 miles they had digressed to 1800 and one to 1600. Reset to 2000.

Set of New BB codes for myself, checked the PP all were 1400 to 1700, reset them to 1950 to 2000, have not installed them yet.

Set of remaned BB code, all crap, but will try to salvage them. Sure as hell won't return them cause I'm highly pissed about the restock and return shipping charges. And you can tell Dave about that.

I have not passed judgement yet, I am suspect of florida workers anyway, ..so the bb codes I sold ondaroad, did you pull them and they were low, he hasnt talked to me and I have found the new ones loose at least 200 after a time.

And I will not pay restock on a faulty part,. I will get something in writing or no sale.

Jim has a different engine now. These were new BB code that he bought from Pensacola. It's a long story about the engines, he would have to tell you about it. No reflection on the injectors you sold him.

That is what I found, they lose 200+, that's why I quoted the milage. Jim may correct the milage if he get's on, he's on his way to Maine now.

Hey Russ, IF you are buying in quantity, have you considered contacting the company in England to see if you can purchase directly? A lot of times supply chain is held up due to middle men not ordering enough and then when they do, they wait and have it come in on a stock order with a bunch of other stuff via slow boat on a container load which is why it's slated for 4 months out for delivery, but if you were to contact the company direct with a wholesale order, they would be MORE than happy to send it DHL or other non express air method, which from the UK, ironically ends up not costing much more than what UPS 3 day does in the states ( I have been ordering parts out of Europe and the UK for years) and just bypass the middle man you've been fooling with. Chances are the middle man markup that you'll bypass will most likely balance out the extra shipping costs and you may even come out a little cash ahead, at least that's what I've usually found. When going straight to the oversea source you generally bypass no less than 1-2 middlemen and you know how to do the markup math on that.
The manufacturer wants to sell injectors and they could care less that so and so has a stinkpile of them tied up waiting to fill a container at a harbour somewhere before he has it shipped over, They would much rather sell YOU a case of injectors NOW

Good point. That may be worth a try. Here was my reman experience. The U-haul remans had a lot of pretty decent injectors in the lot. I think 5 or 6 out of the 8 I bought are now in my IDI. The Penascolas I bought only had a couple of good ones out of the whole set. They too went in my truck. I essentially matched them to 1900+-100 PSI. So with the Pensacolas you can never tell, and I imagine we'll continue to have good and bad results from them. I think we may be in for trying to be frozen out by suppliers and if we want to keep these things on the road it's going to be down to learning how to rebuild our own injectors even if it isn't very cost effective.

RLDSL, in mining the site i found they have many pintle designs for IDI injectors, wish they would cough up samples for testing,

I will contact them for a direct buy. Anyone want to spend several K to insure supplies???

valley fuel injection in surrey bc a division of BD Diesel has the BB's new and reman in stock and lots they said just putting it out there. thats where mine are from best thing ever i just need a pump now
