Can't we just get new needles, nozzles, and springs for cheap? The injector housing itself doesn't wear out. Since injectors are so easy to work on seems like a better option for some.

Most reputable fuel injection shops won't even fool with this type injector anymore because the nozzles cost more than brand new injectors. It's a loosing proposition. To rebuild them PROPERLY and still make a profit, the things would have to go for around $70 ea. With the cost of brand new Delphi injectors a fraction of that, it's a no brainer.

For places like Pensacola and diesel careless to be selling remans as cheap as they do, they can't possibly be rebuilding them properly. What they have to be doing is getting a stinkload of cores in and sifting through the pool of used nozzles and springs till they get enough that they deem acceptable and calling that 'rebuilt' .... THen when you pop them in a truck and they idle like crap or they don't want to start, well, go figure.
