Relax man....

The guys are justing trying to help. They HATE the multitudes of people that come in and bash things but haven't exhausted their options to repair what they are bashing or what they should have fixed right the first time....not saying you are one of them but there have been and will be many more.

If you are looking for a step by step sticky or similiar on the subject maybe you should search or start a sticky of you own for others to learn from...

A 5 min search netted these results:

I would take a few minutes and note that a several members that asked got 0 responses to their similiar questions...

Also, their are tons of things to be frustrated about in life...this is not one of them.

thanks Thad and i know! i dont know why i let the little things get to me!

We all do it, so don't feel bad. I get frustrated and lose my cool too easy all the time. It's something I am working on. I haven't ever blown up on OB because by the time I am able to safely use my computer I am thinking correctly again.

I did a ZF swap on my truck but it's been nearly two years so some things are a little fuzzy. One difference is that both my truck were 91's so I didn't have the pedal assembly differences to contend with.
I am not sure I can help with the differences in the years but I will help you as much as I can.
Ask away.

You guys really getting 400k out of a E4OD? I never seen one go past 100k:dunno

The one in dad's '90 lasted 335,428 miles before it seized up in 3rd on him coming home from work. Replaced it with a new Jasper unit with a lifetime warranty, and he's put about 40,000 on the new one with no issues whatsoever.

Don't cut anything!

I still have all the auto harness and computer in mine, I haven't gotten around to taking it out and putting in the stuff from the parts truck.
You will need the safety switch that's on the auto for the truck to start. I just zip tied mine to the frame.
I don't have my reverse lights hooked up yet either. You can splice the zf reverse switch into the auto harness I think but I don't know which wires to splice into.
Maybe someone on here will know.
On mine there was a speed sensor in the speedometer cable at the trans. I don't know if your 92 will have that or not.
If it does it will work in the zf. The sensor on mine was shot and I found out that it won't start without it. So it's on the frame as well until i either switch the harness or splice the wires for it.

With the donor truck next to Your should be easy to make it all work and manual tranny (light trk that is) are easy to work on most times, that being said if You like to shift manually then that is what You should do. Personally I have more autos than manual, My DD has 2 sticks and in the city it gets old fast but I love it the rest of the time. A properly built well maintained and cooled auto will outlast a manual tranny in My opinion and is less hassle.
Hope it all works very well in Your conversion.
