Yup,

I told him he needs to upgrade to a straight axle setup.

Told him I'd do the swap for him if he finds 2 setups.
Of course I'd only charge him the second axle setup for his install.

Looking at what may have went wrong was that one of the frame to housing bolts was missing, and the second one was finger tight. I'm thinking that and having a plow on the front end is what did it in.

There was only 2 inches of metal left that had not torn.
It had put so much strain on the axle shaft, that I had to cut the remainder of the arm off just to get axle out of the carrier assembly.

given the same hit id say a 60 would do the same thing. when you hit anything hard, somethings gotta give. id rather an axle give then the springs give and bent them or bent the frame.

He didn't hit anything. That was a stress induced tear.
This is the second truck with a D 50 front end that he's had do this.

there must besomething else wrong. bent frame or even a bent bracket for the axle. you need to find the real problem before you can really fix it

I posted those a while back. Very good deal for complete D60's thats what I ended up giving for mine, but only after I jewed him down over $200. Im sure if you bought both of them he'd work out a deal for you.
But yet again, Im not exactly sure where you're at and if you could work out getting them or whatever. Just thought I'd post them for you to consider.
