Well I'm starting it tomorrow, the actual engine swap was easy, like any other engine swap. I'd also bring a few buddies along to take some work load off. I'm just working on the wiring. The hardest part of this has been removing the stupid dash board. Other than that its pretty easy
The dash isn't all that bad.
Pull the collum and the emergency brake pedal.
The cluster and the kick panels.
There aren't as many bolts as you would think.
Un plug harness at kick panels including the grounds and The firewall.
Disconnect heater cables or vacuum lines.
I pulled my dash out and laid it on a blanket next to the doner dash.
I just swapped the harness out of it and used my main dash.
You need to pull the plug from the firewall behind the e brake and put in the PCM bracket..
Way faster than I could have done it. I can understand why you did it. I almost did the same to my Bronco AFTER I had the 6.9 in and running. I could have bought the whole donor truck for $150. But there's a reason why it was that cheap. The whole thing was a POS!!! I could have bought a good truck with a powerstroke for less than I would have had in that swap so I stayed with the idi. My current project is taking the whole EFI 5.0 and AOD trans from a 1986 LTD and putting it in my 1981 F150. Why? For the same reason as my idi Bronco. Because I want to see if I can do it. The only thing missing is the people telling me that I can't do it. They are quiet after the Bronco project. We all do what we want to with our vehicles. Nice job!
