I have a 1994 f350. It was originally a 7.3 powerstroke and a previous owner for some reason put in a 1983 6.9 idi. I installed a 1993 idi wiring harness, Ecm, and a newer injection pump drive gear housing with a tach sensor. When I fired the truck up it was reading 1500 at idle. The truck has its original guage cluster from when it had the power stroke. Is there a an electrical problem in the sensor or the tach guage? Should I swap out the whole guage cluster for a 92-93 setup or could I get away with just swapping out the tach?
