Will do, the truck was running in February it started randomly stalling while running and warmed up and became very hard to start. Not sure if they got it hot or what

If its that far apart already and the compression is that low, I would be getting the bores checked. If they come out good, throw new rings on the pistons. get the heads checked since they are out and go from there.

Hot start issues can be the IP being worn out, but you need to get your compression figured out before condemning the IP. the numbers you have are way too low.

Yea that’s what I was thinking. I fixed the stuck valve and bad lifter, hopefully that with new head gasket brings my numbers up
At this point, I don't think you have anything to lose by trying it.
I bought the truck with the 7.3 in it and the original 6.9 that was running when taken out, so I could throw it back in there and try and rebuild the 7.3.
If you can't get this engine running again, that's what I'd do.
What do you mean by a floppy lifter.
I have an answer, but if I gave it, I'd probably be on a forum vacation for a while. Maybe I'll just keep it to myself. LOL

A worn IP can also cause too much fuel to go back through the return lines and cause the IP to run out of fuel, which will make it die. It may possibly even be a bad lift pump.

Sorry for long delay but I put engine back together and not much difference so I call dude and told him engine was bad and to my surprise he gave me another engine, a bunch of parts including a good BW T Case. So I think I’m just going to throw it in the truck. Only problem is it’s a non turbo but I can fix that while it’s out. Just build it with the other turbo engine. Valley pan, head studs, oil cooler and seals and a bunch of other stuff all came with it. Engine was good running they just switched it out with a factory turbo model for his son and I think he ragged it out. What would you guys do

If this latest engine runs, I'd reseal the oil cooler and put it in the truck. That way you can take your time and build up the other one how you want to. A N/A engine will hold up to quite a bit of power. It will have no troubles holding up to a stock Factory Turbo.

That’s what I’m leaning towards just seal it up and run it. Then try and rebuild the turbo engine correctly. Thanks for the input
