31,000 Gross

I have a 2002 Cummins 2500 4x4 6spd HO and a 32ft tandem dual PJ goose neck. The most I ever had on it was a 743 bobcat (5000lb), an 843 bobcat (7000lb), 300 series bobcat mini excavator (5000lbs??). The trailer weighs 6500, and the truck is around 7500 full of fuel with me in it. Looks like about 31,000 gross. Definately knew it was heavy, but the little Cummins spooled up and went to work.

Over 200,000lbs gross in a '73 Freightliner cabover with a Michigan gravel train loaded of corn running from the field to the mill....3 boards high and heaping. Seems like it took about 10 miles to get up to 55 mph

Mill wasn't too happy when I pulled on the scale 40,000lbs over the legal limit up there. Prolly still be in jail if I got caught:D

I've never maxed out the towing capabilities of
my truck, just the carrying capacity with our
8'6" slide in camper, and once in a while I'll
drag along our Suzuki, flat towed on a tow bar,
or an open tandem axle car trailer with the 4Runner.
After all, it's only a GM. It can't haul ****. ;Really LOL

In 1972 I had an old 1947 Dodge 1 1/2 tom 7.25-20 rubber-loaded with 3 1/3 cord of green oak firewood cut-split 4 ft lenths.GVW 13500.Flathead 6 4 speed(money was tight then had 3 kids no job)State trooper saw me took me to scales-26000+ he told me the fines would break me.I told him I was already broke "why do you think I'm doing this(cutting wood & delivering it 30 miles for $25 a cord)" Well he said fines will be close to $5000.I told hom to keep the truck -walked off left the truck on the scales. He asked me where I was goinf "Home" I said, and told him he would pay the fines. He asked how I figured he would pay the fines? I said because I was going to sighn up for welfare that afternoon, and walked off.A few minutes later he pulled up to where I was hitch hiking and ordered me into his cruser.I told him he needed to cuff and arrest me.( I think I had given up-back in the early part of the recession it was tough for a vet just home to get into the job market.I was busting my nuts for nothing-oh well I loved my family)He took me to my truck and told me to "get out of here" Next morning same place same hill ( same sized load) on rt 495,same speed- 25 MPH !He shook his head as he passed me. Never saw him again. Maybe he felt sorry for me.But I fed my family, thats all that mattered to me.
As you can see I never changed these are with my 84 shortened F250 with a N/A 7.3 c6 with 3:55s

Pulling the Combine

Wasn't the heaviest I've hauled, but here is a picture of my 02 Ram 2500 pulling my 32 ft tandem dual with my Gleaner combine aboard with a corn head as well as a bean head in front of that. Pulled it home about 150 miles.

No, It is a Gleaner E with a 3rn corn head and a 10ft bean head. Not sure what it weighs, but I was at DOT max height.
