ok so i know a few people have done it and liked the results i just dont remember who. how much does a guy need to do up pipes and DP? before i bolt my turbo on i think i want to wrap my up pipes and dp for two reasons, one to keep some of the heat off of the firewall, and two to keep some of the exh heat traped in to help the velosity(more boost sooner). what are your feelings on this guys?

what do you remember about the results?? everything ive heard so far about headers in general is that performance ones are a waste of time, but that was headers themselves, not wrapping.

i wanna say someone here claimed to pick up 1psi of boost. maybe it was Ironman03R. i cant remember. i dont think anyone here has headers on one, not much point to when you cant use them with a turbo. i just want recomendations on wraping up and down pipes.

all that wrap will help with what you said. retaining all the heat pre and post turbo will keep the exhaust velocities up. thus improving turbo spool. i heard somewhere it increased boost by 2 psi and eliminated a lot of lag.

Dave is over on FTE, find all kinds of stuff on his rig over there.
I wrapped my turbo housing on my ats 088. Did it on first install, so no before /after temp readings, did it to keep the heat off the firewall.

I did it and picked up 1 lb at low speed which is where I like it. 1 wrap with the high temp paint they have to seal it. oh just did the crossover. Got a pic somewhere.

Im wondering about this too. Im going to be installing a ATS088 kit on my truck pretty quick here. Ive already coated the exhaust housing and up pipe with ceramic paint. I heard about dave sponagaul(sp?) on FTE and he said he coated his with ceramic paint...then header wrap...then more paint and if i remember correctly he did this a few times.

Yeah, I did my crosspipe, up pipe, turbo housing and downpipe. Just make sure you dont have any oil leaks because the wrap wont burn but when it gets oil soaked the oil will burn. I've had good results with it, picked up more boost in the mid range, and I get full boost faster. I used a thick wrap, wrapped it tight and used a bunch of header paint to coat the cross pipe. Its been about a year and no rust issues like some claim.
