I'm wondering how accurate the stock boost guage is.

I know the trans temp is nothing more than an idiot needle and I need pyro but do I need boost as well?

TIA

Actually I have read, but not verified, that the boost gauges on the 05 and 06 trucks is pretty accurate.

Stock these trucks top in at no more than 30 PSI. I was climbing hills this weekend with my 5th wheel in tow, and the most boost I saw on my Autometer Z-series was 27 PSI. The hills I was pulling were any where from 6 to 8%.

Just for reference here is the weight that I generally tow at:

Steer axle: 4100
Drive axle: 5700
Trailer Axles: 10400

Thanks Robert and Tom.....I didn't want to Assume anything.

Think I'll get a 3 pod and use Pyro and Tranny and the 3rd for my secret weapon

jharvey,

We've seen them be as much as 3 PSI off. Get a boost gauge you'll most likely be glad you did! Give us a call we have all the Auto Meter, DiPricol and Isspro guages and mounts in stock.
