I have been out of town for the last month so thats why I haven't been around, I got my 48 glow Plugs from the zone so thats cool, truck started right up and my wife gave me some Good News,

My Wife and I are going to have out first Kid so everyone please smoke a nice cigar for me. I am a little scared but I know we will be alright, everyone tells me kids are a true blessing and I believe it. I am only 26 for those of you that dont know me, I have been married for 1yr and live and work in Fredericksburg, VA. We were planning to start a family after 3 to 5 yrs so this was a good surprise. ;p

the bad news is we have some vehicles to sell, My truck and her 01 2 door civic and my 85 cobra clone for some more family friendly vehicles. If anyone is interested please PM me, I will make a formal post in the market place later.

the good news is I get to buy new vehicles!!!!!

I am looking for suggestions.

For the wife I am thinking a jetta(diesel would be +) or audi a4 or maybe some kind of 4 cylinder SUV. I want to spend around 8K on a nice 4 door decent gas mileage used car.

For me the ultimate would be a IDI centurion. The 4 door bronco thing. Or I could settle for a crew cab. Please post any centurion related links you have.

Why does everyone sell their toys with a baby on the way? I didn't sell my 63 Mercury or my truck - I just made sure "the wife" had a family hauler......I call it her "******* wagon" because you've been ******* and now you need a wagon....

Congrats! Kids are a blessing so long as your marriage is strong. It's like adding a turbo to your truck. Makes everything better unless you blow a head gasket. I didn't sell any of mine when I had kids either. I just added onto the one I had. Heck, I had to do the same to the house.

Congrats man My wife gave me a son when we met that was 4 he is six now, and we had a daughter together that is 13 months old. My family is a true blessing. My best advice is to not go nuts on family vehicles. I was scared to death 2 . The first kid is not a reason to give up your rides one car seat will fit on the passenger side of that truck. Your wife will have to sit in the middle. Wait till the time is right. I picked up a mini van to fix up and sell before I met my wife. When she told me she was expecting I fixed it up. I have invested a grand in it. It makes 18mpg, and has enough room for everything that I have. When she graduated college and got a job I bought an 89 f-250 supercab 4/4, its a work in progress. But any ways as your family grows increase your fleet but take your time spend your money on your family you don't have to spend a fortune on your rides.

Yup, WE were *******......I bought her an 02 Windstar, she has a love/hate relationship with it....Now she wants an SUV....Only because a couple of her friends bought new ones...

yep me and the wife got married we had 2 z-28's and a f-150 2ws and dodge 4wd... #1 came still had the same vehicles #2 came got a explorer #3 came kept the explorer
got me a van to run around in (was gave to me) drove it 3 years wife liked having it so with #4 5 and #6 we have to have the van but still have the z's and the trucks keep your rides just retire them to part time use

Im not gettin rid of all my toys, but I know I wont have enough time to work on all my toys. Right now I spend at least 10~15 hours a week in the garage. I am keeping my convertible and the fastback. The truck has been a great education, now it just time for an IDI with a back seat. I spent all last night looking at Centurion 4 door Broncos, they are so freakin cool. Only a small handfull had IDI's in them. I could always convert a gas one to diesel. Or I could build a IDI 2 door bronco like agnems moosestang. I got 6 or 7 months to sort it out. I did find an idi centurion in NY but havent decided about it yet. It has 177K on it and doesnt look that taken care of so the milage concerns me a little.

I know there is. I think it's the timing chain, but I'm done with it. It's been a very reliable truck, but I'm not putting more money into it. So far, I've given it a tune up and set the timing, and replaced the catalytic converter. That's what the guys on FTE told me to do.

Now they're just telling me that's the way it is.

The thing is that it runs like a top.

Keep the van. My wife had a windstar and it was so easy for her with two little kids. An SUV is nice, but she will appreciate the lower VAN and BIG door openings for what it saves her in back strain.
