I am considering running 1 ton axils full width under my scout (same width as an early bronco) and comparing the fuel econmy to a full size like 1979 Bronco or F-350 for miles per gallon. I know that the tires sticking out create drag but is it more than on a ful size truck where the tires are in the fenders mostly? I am looking for 12 city and 17 cruisng on the flats at 65 mph. I will run 33 " tires and a T-19 and 3.5:1 or 3.31:1 gears. This will be an IDI diesel rig.
