Fuel problems PLEASE HELP

I have a 93 Ford F-350 with a 7.3 non turbo Idi with 260xxx miles I put another tank on it with sending unit in tank. Put a new lift pump on it and I put fresh diesel in it. Went to start and it finally started after a bit of turning over. It did great it sat and ran for a hour and a half. Went to drive it and it stalled and died.. So I ordered a kit off eBay and replaced the o rings tees and return lines changed the fuel filter with a fram filter. Got that done and proceeded to fire the truck up took it a bit to fire up it smoked white smoke out of the exhaust and ran for a few minutes and then spit and sputtered and died.i also changed the o ring on the heating element on filter head. After i changed the filter I fired it up it ran a few minutes and died so I tightened the filter up a little more and it seemed to run longer than it has but still died I need help what would be the next step to do in getting her to run and stay running.

Welcome to the forum. Tell us about the new tank. How much fuel was in it when you had it running. Could be the suction is not need enough to suck the fuel out of the tank. When the engine dies can you crank it and get fuel pulsing out of the vent valve called a schrader valve on the filter head? Thats the odd looking thing that appears to be from a car or bike tire. Just remove the core and see how much fuel pumps out. Might be lots of air coming out too. Start there and give us some feed back.

O P ..post #1.( orignal poster) Look up air intrusion.
Are the feed lines from tank filled?
Did ya fill the filter prior to mounting it?
What switching valve ( any)?
