The truck has 232000 not sure of any replacements of anything. Was told thing were acouple years old but not true. So NO idea. I put a gauge on the schrader valve and going down the road and have about 4 psi give or take. At idle it has a bounces about a quarter pound. Should I replace the mechanical or put on electric? What psi should go to the IP?

The pump should make 5-7 psi .25 at idle seems low but if it runs okay then I would assume its fine. Its really the flow you need not so much pressure.

The down the road psi isn't too bad but it really should be minimum of 4 psi at all times. Personally I like the e-pumps but there's nothing wrong with the mechanical pump either. I'd replace it assuming your fuel filter is recent and you have no obvious pressure side leaks.
