Getting rid of the mechanical fuel pump on my '90 7.3idi.
Picked up a Holly Red pump and Racor 500 water separator/filter/heater, which I'm installing on the frame rail at the tank.
Going to install a Holly 4-9psi regulator and gauge on the plate that previously held the OEM separator.
The problem I can see is that the regulator will be higher than the engine and I'm worried about fuel backflow and then losing prime.
I'm thinking of putting a check valve between the pump and separator to make sure this doesn't happen.
Looking through different check valve specs I'm not finding one that doesn't have some bleed back.
I'm hoping someone here has already crossed this bridge and may have a few words of wisdom.
