Fuel bowl heater.

Kept blowing a 30 amp fuse, traced it to the fuel bowl heater which was shorted out inside the bowl, unplugged it and things were fine.

F Dealer wanted $150 for new one, IH dealer was slightly less $26.11 including tax. :D IH dealer list price was $60.95. This is a much better heater than the OEM, no problem changing it, don't think it will ever short out again.
When that fuse blows, (under the dash fuse panel) it takes out the power to the PCM also, stupid engineering.

It really pays to shop ford and IH. You will find deals like that on lots of parts on these engines;Sweet

Mine was bad & I just removed the whole thing. It's been in the 20's here with no problems so far. Maybe return it & hang onto the cash?

that is until you run into the new breed of IH button pushers at the counter.
they go into vapor lock when you can't come up with a VIN.
