The front seat on my truck was originally a bench, but the original owner had it customized so the Drivers section is separate from the rest. It's a bit odd, but ok.

That said, I'd like newer seats which are firmer and less bounce per say. The 1999 seats would be perfect (split bench/bucket esp). Has anyone gotten 1999 seats to fit? Any other recommendations?

Thank you

Pics or my question never happened? Huh?

I'll consider posting pics of the seat I want to replace, don't see how it's pertinent.

If I remember, Ron (Dsl_Dog_Treet) has an 02 or 03 Heated Leather Lariat Seat in Mater (87 cab with a bullnose interior).

I think RW is interested in seeing a pic of the mods done to the original bench. I know I am!

Is there any chance it's a GM split bench as opposed to a modified original Ford bench? GM was doing a split bench setup like that in the early 90's...something like this:

(not the best quality, but I had difficulty finding a picture)...

If you can post pictures, I'd love to see it! ;Sweet

Not Chevy seats, included a photo where the cut off frame is at the base of the drivers seat back. The drivers seat is independent of the rest, and tilts forward (which is pointless in a crew cab IMO).

Yes newer seats can be added. May require some mods to the mounting brackets but can be made to fit.

Look in market place...iirc nice seats available in there!

Btw that looks more like a factory split bench from a super cab..and based on the ash trays i am tempted to say chev seat too.

Matt33 and Matt_INW.... two different Matts....

I replied to Matt33's thread a few days after I started mine.

I don't really care for leather, but am willing to pay good for cloth, and can always reupholster poor condition seats.

Actually, my crew-cab has ashtrays in the back of the OEM front seat, so I wouldn't use that as a tell-tale. Also, my first thought after seeing the pics was "factory super-cab bench" also, but looking at it more closely, it doesn't look like the split's in the center like it would be on a super-cab bench. Look at where the two ashtrays are in relation to the split.

Also, looking at the seat structure, it looks a LOT like an OEM crew cab front bench that got modified, just like what he originally said...

BTW, Matt, interesting setup...thank you for posting the pics ;Sweet
