Front filler neck

I'm putting on my bed and the filler neck isn't fitting over the tank nipple. It's also old and briddel, what should I do? parts store doesn't have any filler necks, but it doesn't seem to leak diesel, do our tanks need
To be sealed?

Can heat the end in warm water.

I've never replaced or really thought to look at it, but what's the part you're discussing made from?

Rubber.
Long radiator hose would probably make up fine.

Isn't the rubber replaceable? I've never seen one at the end of a filler down-tube that wasn't replaceable. Maybe look at someplace like LMC or one of the other FINE vendors out there.



I've never worked on or really looked at the ones on my truck, so I wasn't sure where he/you were talking about, but that rubber hose bit should be replaceable, I thought maybe Ford got some weird idea for a bit to use a plastic tube from the discussion over being brittle.

They also say no diesel submersible hose won't last in the tank, mine is fine....
Not like it'd be in constant contact with it....

Lube and shove. May need a small flathead to work the rubber over the flare on the metal
