For those of you with electric fuel pumps

How did you bypass your lift pump? Just slide the fitting back and clamp a hose over the steel fuel line, or something fancier?

Mel, when I chaned the IDI over to the Holley Red pump, I completly removed the lift pump and used a "HOT ROD" part......a Chevy big block- pump block off plate....chromed at that

As far as connecting the Holley....there are some frame holes already punched just behind the drivers area.....I simply clipped the fuel supply line just pass the selector valve and double clamped the suction line to the elec pump.
I got a little "fancy" with the fuel line from the Holley to the filter/IP...I went with #6 AN fittings and teflon lined steeel braided hose.

Just to eliminate those rubber seal rings

Mel, I put the Big Block Chevy block off plate, once I removed the old lift pump, then I cut the fitting off the end of the fuel lines, and used a piece of rubber fuel line and high pressure fuel injection clamps and tightened them down really snug. Works like a dream. So far it has worked very well, the electric fuel pump is nice, you just know it is working, you can hear a slight buzz when you hit the key, so most of the time, you know you are getting fuel to the Filter. I would never go back to a old lift pump. Just seems to be too much of a pain, but that is just me. I know they work for thousands of miles for others, but for me, the piece of mind of the electric is great. Scotty

Like the others, I installed the chrome block off plate with better bolts. Initially I used the old steel line to the filter, but have since replaced it with a new steel line that is clamped at the lower end to the block. Make sure you have loop of fuel line between the steel line on the frame and the steel line to the filter to allow for engine movement.

Aeroquip all the way braided racing hose and an fittings to the filter and inj pump.

OK, well I see there are a couple of ways guys have done the bypass. I'm not too worried about the holley part of it. I'll be posting a picture soon of the work I've done, and I'll give a free bottle of Stoner glass cleaner to the first person who accurately guesses what it does. :Sly

He don't drive them trucks enough to need that option .....Hmmmmmm

Well if he's got a kegerator er a fridge in the tail, maybe he has got a fountain drink machine back there too.

If memory serves, The Moosetail is complete so I'll take a stab and say it's fer the Bronco

OK. Gruss gets the award for most creative answer. Darrin, the tail itself does the fuel transfer, however your answer is part of the total equation. What the picture will reveal is a Holley red, and TWO fuel tank selector valves and a bunch of hoses. Geo, your right in that I will be doing something similar for the Bronco, but this time around it IS for the Moose Truck. Always have to add some new wizbang thing to keep my "best equipped" title.
