Well, I finished replacing the steering gear box on my'89. It steers a whole lot better that before. I still had little slop in the steering which I attributed to the 2 piece steering column. I noticed the 2 piece column had slop when I turned the steering wheel. Knowing it probably needed a shim I fabricated one out of a piece of stainless steel feelers gauges.. I took up the slack in the steering, and firmly positioned the shims via worm clamp and my favorite material: BALING WIRE! So I guess Ill be driving her to the ranch this weekend instead of driving the old 2012 Ram. Confession: The old Ram aint bad but, I prefer to hear the engine noise of that 7.3 idi. More info to follow!
