f450 economical tire brand?

Any suggestions for tire brands? mainly highway use towing. Tire size suggestions? Do you balance the rears? local shop said they could not do the rears. Not going to be high mileage each year just looking for a good tire as cheap as I can get it. Haul livestock so I need something to take weight.

I run Goodyear Wrangler E rated tires and get really good milegae on them. I feel Michelin are the best tires but really too expensive for what I do with them. My last set ran 77,000 miles when air started leaking in bwtween the body and the tread. That caused a real bumpy ride.... They still had 3/4 tread left....

do not use a cheap tire on this truck. why? your empty weight is more than other trucks gross. even though the tires are rated the "same" weight handling wise, the characteristics of how a tire preforms between the cheapest and the most expensive if very drastic. I had Bridgestone R265 on my trucks, now they are superseded by two new designs that I have yet to try, so the jury is out. the all-out best tire to get is the Michelin XPS rib and they can run 230-250 each. do plan on spending from 180-225 per tire for a good tire. the last thing you want to experience is some stupid cows leaning out of a turn and at best you have is a white knuckle experience, the worst is the sidewalls on the drive axle walk over and peel the beads off the rims. Yes, your truck can now haul an ungodly amount of weight. take it very seriously

i keep mime the same so I can swap around tires when the SHTF out in BFE.
with towtrucks, flat tires are a daily thing.

no problem rubbimg with the rears? fuel mileage is suppose to be better with larger tires?

stock size is a 235 on a f450
the offset is large enough for them to clear.
just make sure you get a good tire so they won't squat and touch.

Also, your tire shop is feeding you bull on the balancing thing - the front and rear wheels are absolutely identical, so if they can balance a front one they can ballance the rear wheels too. That actually sounds like a Belle tire place asking for $40 to patch an inboard tire, cause it was so much more work to get to that wheel compared to an outboard wheel or a front wheel - how is it more work, you pull the outboard wheel and the inboard darn near falls off the axle on its own! I ended up pulling the wheel myself and then driving my truck there on 3 rear wheels, the price for the tire repair then dropped to $15 which included balancing. So yeah, raise hell upon them, or just find a better tire shop.

I'd get a set of Double Coins. They are a decent tire and wear like iron. I have them on a trailer and my snapon dealer has them on all his trucks including the tool truck and loves them.
