The Crown Vic ain't got no vacuum pump, its 4.6 gasser pulls very good vacuum on its own so no need for an additional pump. You're probably thinking of the PSD vacuum pump, that's electric on the '99-up models IIRC.

I'm using an electric vacuum pump from the same truck ('99 and newer PSD...) I stole the hydroboost from. Working fine for a couple years now.

Wow $65 is not what I call cheap. I have the same one on My 05 psd, never have a problem with it so I guess they are good for continuous duty (?)

I think I paid about 120 for a new belt driven pump, so 65 bucks sounds cheap to me. Wish I would have known about it then, because it was a PITA to unbolt the seized up bolts on the old one....
