Electric fuel pump to feed my Moose pump, which is best?

I was originally looking into one of those Facet pumps, but everyone has had problems with them not feeding enough fuel or burning up so I'm going another direction.
I really don't want to have to run a regulator, but dont want to run out of fuel with my moose pump either.
I know at some point someone had mentioned a pump that could be purchased through Napa that wasn't bad and only cost like $50.
Holley's are expensive and are loud but if thats what I need to run proper fuel volume then I'll do it, but I want to hear what you guys think.

I've bought 2 holley reds off of Ebay for less than $30 total, but you are correct that they are loud, mine sounds like one of those little oilless air compressors running all the time. When I mount my second one I am going to make a thicker rubber pad to try to isolate some of the vibration, so that it doesn't resonate through the entire frame. I am making an entire seperate setup for my alt fuels tank, that way I can easily swith to a new pump, new lines, and new filter if one clogs.

I've tried to quiet the Holley Red on My 85. It seems like nothing will quiet them. Rubber mounting didn't do much for Me.

I have the red pump on my 89. It keeps up off the line but when I hammer on it, it drops to 2 psi. I have been given a blue pump I am going to try that with a regulator. I have put blue pumps on cummins and they haven't been as loud as my red. Somebody posted about a marine fuel pump that I was tempted to try.

Forgot to mention I'm only going to be running diesel, don't have to worry about the thicker waste oils.

I have the procomp equalivant to the Holley. It is really loud as well. I was thinking I would try to find a quieter pump one of these days. I would run the normal lift pump, but until I get all of my bugs worked out, I need something that can pump fuel without turning the engine.

Yea, I'm looking into getting the Holley blue and just mount the regulator and fuel pressure gauge so I know whats going on. Can you hear your holleys running all the time? Like does it drone when you're driving and drive you to road rage? Or can you not hear it at normal driving speeds?

The red and blue are the same pump, they take the same service parts except the spring. I have been running a blue w/o a reg for over a year, before the rally I cut the spring down to get pressure down to where a red is but I think the best way is to use a bypass regulator. I think Holley makes rubber bushings to isolate the pump, I have 1/4 inch rubber spacers between the pump and the frame and rubber washers on the bolts, its better but still transmits through the truck. When I had it in the engine compartment on a bracket that attached to the fuel filter I could barely hear it with the truck off.

I got the holley blue on a 95 suburban with a 6.5td with some mods, it's set at 6 psi and gives a steady pressure that never drops (got fuel pressure gauge in dash). Fairly silent, can barely hear it in the cab when the engine's shut off. Mounted to the frame with the supplied bushings. Works just fine, and will most likely put one in the f250, instead of a red.

I was just about to ask if you wanted me to take a video of what my Holley Red sounds like when it is operating, but I guess it is too late now unless you just want to get an idea of what it sounds like.

Actually you can hear what the Holley red sounds like in this videoof mine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SFW3IydPx8 that is with the doors closed and windows up, it is a bit louder outside of the truck, but once it is running you can barely hear it over the engine. Well I don't remember if the door was closed or not in that video so I can't swear to that but you can still hear it in the video at the beginning when I turn the key on to get an idea of how loud it is.

Sure, that'd be nice! I read allot of posts from different forums online stating that the blue pumps are quieter than the red ones. So post yours and when I get mine going I'll take a vid too and we'll compare them.
