Hit the stickies, hit the faccett group buy and the myriad of spinnoffs.
Do lots of research first.
That way I'm not going to post our venerable meme for this question

IdiClb?
IndadesertClb?....lol

Have a couple out there now using the lift pump from the 93 mechanical 6.5 trucks. One truck is turbod and if it goes anywhere, has a 10k+ trailer behind it. Seems to be doing ok. Time will tell.

Sorry, just my poor sense of humor. You just always come off negative when folks ask about electric pumps. If there was a for sure good pump that was a really good fit for these trucks, and that had been covered over and over, I would understand telling somebody to search better. But....that is not the case.

So if there's a metric #$%^ ton of searchable information available but rather than search for it....
But we could regurgitate the same ole thing.
We could even redo the tech 101 files but that's not going to happen again.
If we had a faq section it would be missed quite often anyways.
My holly red from 2019 still runs fine.
My oem mechanical from 1993 still ran fine when replaced by a red in 2019.
My group buy faccet ran, also ran the fuel lamp up every hill in norcal to Alaska also.

Yall should've been on the old pirate site when newbies would as how to do xyz modifications that had been beaten to death.
Google "flamefest" for grins....
Carry on.

I went the "peasant" route with a low cost pump, mounted by my battery. There are some that I believe use frame mounted in line ones.
I used the exact write up in our tech section. I highly recommend using that write up!! It includes exact plumbing and part numbers. I made all of mine easy to remove and I do carry an extra new pump. I did this about 4 years ago and it has been my favorite modification after the headlight harness.

I would absolutely do your research on your brand choice and use the tech write up for install.

My biggest difficulty was fabricating a bracket to hold mine.... It's wicked ugly so when we have open hood time at rallies I usually cover my pump with a towel or something and hope no one notices

Things change though. Is it true the holley red's are no good anymore? Stuff like that happens all the time.

This thread here is fairly recent and I think has some good research in it on electric fuel pumps.

Since (insert banned word for corporate here) everything is different.
Finding anything that is built to last is tough.
That guy quoted above is on the right track.
If my red dies I'm gonna reinstall the oem mechanical pump.

I am sad that there wasn't enough testing for the fawcet pump way back.
Cuz the scare of the diaphragm ruptureing and filling the crankcase with fuel is probably pretty thin.

But we can argue those stories of guys not arming the epumps and still driveing fine all day.
Reference my dash light on story for 1.

I have a feeling that the sourcing of the epump from a commercial "must run flawless " to keep the rest of the system saving lives or making $$$
Situation is going to be the answer.

Cuz corporate

There was a thread a while (maybe two years) back about Holley reds not lasting. I can say for a fact that the Holley blue that I bought right before that thread started only lasted me right about a year. After the fact, I realized that it was showing signs of having issues before that, but when I noticed the fuel pressure, I had just installed a new CDD IP and set of injectors. I had been running two wore out IPs before that where I had to keep my fuel pressure regulator fully open in order for the Holley to keep up. I just thought that the fuel pressure was reading differently because of the new parts and closing the regulator back down.

I will throw this in about searches and stickies. 99% of the research I do on this sight is on my phone. The only time I use a desktop is at work and dont come here often on that one. That being said, searches on your phone aren't always that productive and as far as stickies go only 3 show up on mine so it is hard to find the tech articles. Sometimes its easier to just ask.

It's always something....
If I was better at puters I'd offer to sift thru and make a "newbies/help me find" thread that was searchable...
