EGT Probe Questions

I was thinking drivers side manifold, first cylinder at the front, and it would be about 1" off the side of the head.

This is where im putting it so far.

Any more input ???

I prefer the passenger side. You can NOT shorten the wire they give you in the kit, so I put it on the passenger side so I do not have to coil up the extra wire. Coils of wire form antenna's that can affect accuracy. There is usually a convenient spot to drill the pipe right below the exhaust flange.

i put mine in the driverside manifold, inbetween that back 2 cyls. like mel said, do not coil up the thermocupler cord. make long loops if possible.

I would not put it there. You will be getting a reading from basiclly just that front cyl. But thats just me

So i want it closer to the manifold flange where it meets the exhaust ?

That was my exact thought, and why i put mine in the pass side.

ITs going on the drivers side between either the front 2 or back 2 cylinders. That is all i can reach.
