No personal experience but from what I've read you don't want the rubber diaphragm in the mechanical pump breaking so that fuel mixes with oil. So if the electrical pump continues to work and that diaphragm is busted you would never know it.
Only question I have is the metal line goes to the mechanical then to the electric in to the filter how do I run the plastic line to the pump the electric pump is pictured below. They have the electric p coming on with the glow plugs and then off with them is this right
If this is how it's actually wired(which is really strange) then all it's doing is priming the truck for start.
Seriously, there's a really good tech article at the top of the forum dealing with the conversion to electric. It shows the line routing and how to wire it correctly.
