Hey ya'll, I drove my truck for the last time as a auto and put her up on jack stands. I started 8:30 am and got it out by 3:15, it was easier than I thought. I have alot of pics, some questions. For anyone left with a E4OD:D, I have parts, the transmission(with 15K on ford reman.), cable shifter assembly, torque converter, 4x4 shifter, metal cooler lines, dip stick and dipstick tubes(turbo and non-turbo tubes). PM me if interested.

Just for the record, the 88-91 MC has a closer stud pattern then the 92-97. I got the 91 MC cause it was cheaper but I will end up having to ream out the holes.:-X06

Questions:
First, what do I do with this hose underneath the dash, it was mounted on the old pedal assembly and there is nowhere to mount it on the new one. Do I need it? I have no idea what it could possible do?

Second, what do I do with the 3 plugs that hooked up to the transmission?? What do my reverse lights plug in to? And where will the 4x4 light plug in?

Rest of pics......

If no one answers your questions quick enough for you....PM Biggin. IIRC that vacuum hose is for the disengaging of the cruise control when you hit the brakes.

The vacuum hose dumps the vacuum from the cruise control vacuum servo. The cruise is cut off electrically by the switch on the pedal, but with just the switch, the speed of the vehicle would slowly bleed away as the vacuum slowly left the servo. The hose quickly gets rid of the vacuum so the vehicle instantly slows down.

If you had the short harness from a zf equipped pickup, it would plug right in to your different switches.

I love the build. Please post lessons learned and items of interest to others attempting to do the same thing. I like the work so far.

Looking good.;Sweet If you don't have the short harness from a ZF5 donor truck, you can just make one. There reverse light switch is high on the right side of the trans and is red in color (at least all the ones I've seen are red). You'll need two female bullet connetors and (if I remember correctly) two male spade connetors and of course some wire to make the harness. The bullets go on the switch and the spades (at least they were spades on the C6 plug) go in the factory plug on the frame.
