E4OD, preferred stacked plate cooler?

Currently I have tube & fin cooler installed but would like to install something better, especially since I'm doing a full fluid change and want to keep fresh fluid as fresh as possible. Stacked plate coolers seem to be the preferred design, but how many rows of plates? I do not plan to tow heavy but would like a cooler that's able to handle some extra stress. Much of the driving will be in hilly terrain. I would prefer not to add a cooler with a fan only because it's one more thing and takes up a bit more space but I am open to all suggestions/arguments. Build quality is just as important as cooling capability so if there are brands prone to failure I would like to avoid those.

I put a Hayden 779 on the C6 27ft RV that was also towing around 1600-1800lbs and it did quite well for cooling. But it was a poor choice, connection wise. I had to get AN adapters and then also hose receivers. So, get the hose barb equivalent to the 779, which I think is 679. You'll still need 3/8 to 5/16 hose reducers because the transmission cooler lines are 5/16 and the cooler is 3/8 but you save buying AN fittings for the 779.

I have a Long Tru-Cool Max LPD47391, and have for a number of years. I don't tow heavy or too often, but I want my transmission to run as cool as possible. I want to give it every chance of survival I can. If memory serves my transmission ran ~150* towing a fully loaded cargo trailer from San Jose to Vancouver Island and back. I'm very satisfied with this cooler.

the tru cool listed above is good, but i would run in addition to the radiator cooler a 6.0 trans cooler as they are cheap and readily available, and MASSIVE.

Any fitment issues with a 6.0 cooler on a Bricknose? Are inlet/outlet adapters needed?

Get an aftermarket radiator bracket kit to install it. Drops right in. Plenty of room. As for how the hoses connect they are just barbed fittings.

Hayden 699, the large size with bimetallic strip based bypass (in Alaska so overcooling can be an issue).

Also replaced the tranny fittings with a 4R100 pressure bypass to 3/8 line, got a set of 95 power stroke stainless cooler lines I tweaked to fit and replaced the radiator barbs with 3/8...

Tranny to in radiator cooler to Hayden 699 and back to tranny.

yes, the Hayden 699, just put one in a F450 dump w/7.3 PS, 4r100 with bypass delete, bypassed rad. pulls a heavy trailer with 10k Bobcat regularly this past summer, rarely gets hot to touch.
