So, just another project to add to the to do list! Like I don't have enough time to work on my current projects...

Here's the plan. My friend has a 1994 bronco with the EFI 351, he wants to make less power and be heavier so we decided switching to an IDI would be his best plan. (he didnt take on my idea of filling the back seat with sandbags)

I know this will be one of the easiest swaps to do and I have done a good bit of research, just wanted to get any feedback before we go tearing into the bronco, also an estimated price for the swap would be great!

Thank you all, Wes

youre going to be into it about 500-1k without the purchase of an engine/trans/possible front diff

ive seen this done a few times, but only online.
radiator support to accept the larger rad,
and a modified driverside engine plate.
stock IDI engine mounts.
driveshafts may be needed,
I would also do a solid front axle.

search F150 IDI builds.
since this is what youll be doing.

I opted to go the different route, since I eat breathe excrement customs.

I took a IDI F250 diesel, added CC B pillars, then added the bronco.

in cali, VIN means everything.

both articles are good ones.

this is a pretty easy swap.

and as far as having more power... someone should investigate torque vs HP :D

For me, it wasn't about the power at first, it was about being cheap. I could fire up the tires in second with my 351 after I built it. Learned why they called it a bronco REALLY quick. Then, gas was 3.99 or so a gal. So I found the Idi. Less power, but torque for days. But living in MO and running that 4 speed, I wanted better mileage yet, as well as the ability to not go to 3rd on long hills. Added the Supercharger and that sorta fixed the problem.
