When swapping in the D60 track bar mount where the TTB axle brackets used to be, one of the three mounting holes in the cross member is bigger than the holes in a D60 truck. I decided to just go ahead and drill out the track bar bracket for the bigger hole (M14 – I used a ½” drill bit and a round file). I then shortened one of the TTB pivot bolts to the correct length and added a couple of washers since it was a shouldered bolt.

Also, in my Powerstroke truck, the oil pan is much closer to the cross member than the IDI was. I had to shorten both of the other track bar bracket bolts: one of them quite a bit.

I removed a D60 from a junked F350 this past weekend; i was surprised to see how close the bolt ends came to the oil pan. I will definitely be shortening the bots when I install the axle in mine.

This is great info for me as I will be doing this installation sometime this summer.
