The engine is in a 3000lb Ford ranger 2wd.
Diesel fuel only no propane or nos.
320 hp 545 ft.lb at the crank.
Best of 12.47 @ 102 so far.

Sounds like a great start, with such a light truck you will get alot more out of it when the bombing begins.

Keep us posted and we want pics too

No bombing yet, the cam gear walked off 3/8" and a little oil
in the cooling system. Not bad for turning 4300 rpm through
the traps.
Most of the 4b's for automotive application were 105 or 120hp
depending on if they were cooled or not.
That s-10 should be easy, the 4b is short and weighs about
the same as a big block chevy. All you need is the adapter for
your trans.
We run a powerglide trans. Let me know if I can help with
specs or parts. Later...

PS. you might be holding your hand on your ass with that
ve pump. 500 rwhp better get an inline...

Come on now your not going to tell me that it cant be done to are you? Right now they are producing 485hp, they are designing a new head for it that will allow it to throw 25% more fuel so I say it will be done. Their is a guy that has hit over 520 with propane and he was only putting 420 down with #2!

Oh bye the way what type of pump is on that 4bta? Is it intercooled? What all has been done to that powerglide? Were did you have the trans adaptor made at? I think I may just have to buy me a little old truck to build into a race truck! Dont think pulling the engine out of a 03 with 40K would fly with the family!

I have heard the 4BT vibrates like a SOB when you add power. Is this true?

I'll be buying my first 6BT :peelout in the next few months and saying goodbye to these electronic diesels and their warranty voiding nonsense.

I'm not saying it can't be done, all I'm saying is 500 hp is
possible with the 7100 without the nos or propane.
We run a ve pump on the ranger it's maxed out and we
are still in need of more fuel, no smoke at full boost.
I've ben told 500 plus hp out of a 4b with an inline pump.
The intercooler we run is out of a dodge pick-up it takes
up the whole front of the truck, radiator in the bed.
A good performance rebuild on the trans is plenty.
Our powerglide is out of a 7 sec. pro mod... Later

I can supply the adapters stick, auto, chevy, ford, dodge you get the picture.
As far as the s10 how does 25 to 30 miles to the gallon sound?
We ran this combination on the street, 190 degrees 26 mpg.
On drag radials there wasn't a rice burner that could touch it.
We get a shake at about 3000 rpm, pretty smooth otherwise.
I'll try to get some pics posted, Later...

I doubt it, if you pissed somebody off on this site you would know for sure by now. Thats just how it goes around here sometimes:(

What does it take to get around 200 hp and 400 tq out of a 4bt?I've been thinking about a 4bt in a '92 Ford light duty F250, its a 2wd standard cab and only weighs 5000 lbs. I assume a mildly turned up 4bt would perform as well or better than the 4.9L 300ci I6 thats in there now? It only gets about 13 mpg now, lots of stop and start on the farm, maybe 18 mpg or so stop and go and 24 mpg on the road with a 4bt?

Sounds great! I'm getting 22mpg now in it though. I just turned over 41K so I will wait a little while! Can you get ahold of any 4BTA's? I have a 6BTA right now I'm trying to get rid of, any body interested?
