This tick is driving me crazy! Pretty sure it's an injector just haven't had time to check them all. Unplugged cold idle to see if that was it, no luck. Only starts after truck is up to temp, which I think goes along with an injector yes? Video I took that captures it nicely wouldn't load either

O forgot to add pretty sure it's 3.55 posi track from driving around and changing wheels. Need to look up code to know for sure.

The tick is most likely a bad injector like you said, but the hot start issue is usually caused by a worn IP. Either way, you should replace them all at the same time.

Hot start was simply a bad starter, thank goodness, I am planning on doing pump and injectors at same time. Need to find somewhere that'll pop test my spare set of injectors. I'll probably swap them out and get by for now.

Just a quick update. With copious amounts of marvel mystery oil, a little hit of 5w motor oil each fuel up, and 16 oz of seafoam on a quarter tank for 30 miles my tick has pretty well gone away will probably do new injectors and pump anyways but now I'm not worrying about getting stranded with a blown motor. Been driving it a lot and it just runs better the more it drives. Need to change oil and glowplugs this weekend and take apart the wiper control to get it working mo bettah. Pics for enjoyment.

Well I got the air box pulled off to do glow plugs earlier this week but nothing else before my little girl was born. Found oil in the turbo boot.

looks to me like my cdr needs serviced or possibly replaced. Any recommendations? Also got looking at how they wired the switch into the relay.

Is that short purple jumper wire supposed to be there? I'm no expert on wiring but the last one my buddies and I wired a switch to I think all we had to do was run the signal wire to the momentary switch and ground it.

The switch is in on the ground side of solenoid. The short jumper is just feeding the positive side. Perfectly acceptable way of doing it.

Now I could be wrong on this, but it looks pretty normal to me. A very small amount of oil will pass through the CDR in mist form. Then it collects in the intake or the turbo like yours.

Any body got recommendations on Wes 90 c pump vs stock idi turbo rebuild? Not trying to get a ton of power.....yet. Mostly just trying to get running solid and increase fuel mileage.

No reason to get a stock rebuild for a turbo. You'd end up maxing out the pump anyway later on.

I would not hesitate to get the 90 if it were me. Wes has shown the flow rate for a maxed out stocker pump and he can get them around 83-85cc using all his tricks so 90 isn't that far off.

You'll only get better fuel economy by going easy with the skinny pedal, which is hard to do once you have a turbo and more fuel.


I highly recommend charge air cooling to go with any turbo setup and especially extra fuel. I was really surprised with how much performance I gained with it.

I more meant better mpg because my pumps wore out and my injectors are prev owner Napa specials lol. The skinny pedal gets lots of love from me

Finally getting pump and injectors changed. Found this little adapter attached to front pass side injector.

is It supposed to be on that line? My 6.9 doesn't have an adapter like that. Its around 2 in long and would make a huge difference when that injector pops

I think that's the adapter for a timing meter
