More pricey, but easier to get parts and to get more performance. I ditched the 3208 once I caught wind of of his p pump project, no sense in spending all the money to mount an inferior pump, and it means I don’t have to spend the time and money to develop it, I can just buy someone else’s kit for once hahaSo @Thewespaul how would Justin’s p pump compare to the Cat pump you were looking at, power, reliability, and price wise?

It makes sense. You two are both making products for a relatively small crowd. Only a small percent of that crowd would be interested in something like this and only a small percent of the first small percent will actually buy this. To do all of the research to make this would take a lot of time and money. At first, it may sell somewhat quickly, but I think it would taper off quickly too. a stock valley pan wont work either
the link is incorrect. this was never put on a 6.9 from the factory.
also the adapter wnt work with the stock housing either

600-800cc is pretty attainable. As far as prices, Id wager the full kit with intake manifold, timing set, lines, injectors, pump, pump setup, and timing case to be around 10k, could be more could be less, but it would propel the IDIs well into power ranges of most fully built modern diesels.
Nearly fell off my seat reading that could buy servail idi/idit parts trucks or running trucks for that matter or a powerstroke even a house if need be I think I will pass on that and stick with a n/a be slower then everyone while wallet is less cobwebs
Well there’s many many IDIs still out there, these engines were produced for over 13 years in trucks, equipment, medium duty trucks and marine applications, I’d say for every engine I’ve blown up I’ve saved ten from scrap.I may be a little bit tree hugger here, as I don't know how many of those IDI block castings have survived, but know they aren't making any more of them. Every one of them destroyed is gone forever.
I guess I don't give much of a damm about anything later than IDI, as the IDI was the last of the purely mechanical diesels, that does not have a mess of copyright, DRM, encryption, licensing, agree to terms and conditions, and enforced obsolescence.
I don't mind saying all this new technology nauseates me. Some technology, like the LED, 3G alternator, improved paint, fuel, lubricant... Great.
What pissed me off so much is all this patent, copyright, digital rights management, and other crap designed to keep me ignorant so they can hold my stuff hostage to compel my obedience to what they ask... After the sale.
And these bozos we keep electing into office keep passing these industry wish lists into law. Just trying to fix your own stuff violates these wish lists, and even more so to design and make interfaces to make various devices interoperable.
Blow up all the powerstrokes you want, or the old gassers; technology has rendered the older ones obsolete, but these IDIs, there are only so many of them left. A 200 year old IDI will still run. I can't even read the disks of a 25 year old computer.
