and now we see some weeping from both the heads at the rear. I assume thats from the 120 ft lbs of torque on the studs rather than the recommended 80. And now I feel the 300 I spent on custome solid copper head gaskets was a bad investment cause this is only 2 years old.... And pitting from the outside and assuming inside as well. Hope the head work I did isn't wasted. I've got some bad decisions wrapped up in this thing I'm coming to believe. Now that I see the gaskets I'm glad I used a plain Jane set from fel pro on the 7.3. SMH. Almost afraid to open the 6.9 up. Don't really wanna know what else I f'ed up. More to come when I do get the nerve. That's all for tonight ladies and gents.

Just got caught up on bills etc and homes are popping up everywhere in this area and I been building quite a few of them so now that I got cash to fix the truck I never really have time to! So ridiculous that the WIFE stabbed the block for me and rebuilt the gp wiring harness and installed turbo so now I gotta stab transmission being she just finished up with putting on the new luk clutch kit and flywheel last night. She's a badass for being 95 lbs. Glad she loves the wrench.... Pics of HER progress in just a few

That’s awesome James, got yourself a good one there
Lol. She really is. Had her since I was 14. Known her since I was 9. So 16 years of living with her. Speaking of... Since I'm chilling from an unassisted tranny stab since my Jack blew a seal she's slamming starter in now lol

Did you end up getting a new core support or reusing that old one?

Jacks always fail when you need them most. I bet it will be workin fine tomorrow

Lol. That is a fact sir. And even when they do work they are still easily defeated by a mere zip tie should u need to roll it. And I wound up using the old core support after welding it all back together and throwing in some light 12 gauge angle for extra support. Just hope that it doesn't over power the core support so that a new spot on the core support flexes and breaks elsewhere.

Since talkin blocks... Quite a few of those brown delivery trucks had 7.3 IDI's in them. & they do maintain their fleet. Jus put one in a F-350. Was a rebuild when U.P. had it. Runs good & strong. Only p.i.a. is most externals need swapped off Ford IDI.

The 7.3 I'd is what I'm installing. Well I guess the wife is installing. Lol. It's one thing when u have to admit she was right, it's another when she builds ur truck for u AND have to admit she was right

Lol. Lotta good 5.9 cummins in those trucks too. They scrap trks & trls that are better than alot you see on the roads. You just gotta find where they scrap them in your area / state. Company is **** about them being cut up / destroyed, with pic's b/4 & during. but that don't mean the scrappers won't pull good driveline parts. Jus sayin...

& if I ever find a decent aux 2 speed gearbox reasonable $$, that E4OD will go away for an older non computer mt Allison, find them in older school buses behind IDI's. Just need the aux box to replace lost overdrive. Not that I ever run 80~90 mph down the big road. Wink wink..
