On my other forum, its mentioned that hot fuel is bad and one guy lost 4 mpg? Grrrr. Guess I'll wait and see how my modded injectors work out before installing a fuel line heater.

I started running alternate fuels about 3 months ago, I've burned about 500 gallons and coked my injectors almost shut. I currently run a 20 gallons 70% WATF and 30% gas with 5 gallons jet fuel mixed in but almost out of jet fuel. The visosity is .800 and diesel IIRC is .890. I've saved roughly $1500+ in fuel costs but have replaced 2 sets of GP's and one IP which was bad before I started burning waste oils so that doesn't count. I just installed a set of modified injectors set to 2800 psi and holy crap, what a difference. The biggest is how smooth she is and how little smoke I now have. I now plan on buying a heat exchanger but not sure on which one. Not sure links are allowed but these are the 3 I am looking at.

I also centrifuge my fuels, for at least 10 hours. Still running the stock 6.5 turbo fuel filter which is good to 4-5 microns I believe. I have a 10 micron pre and a 2 micron post to install yet.

How old and how many miles are on the engine? old tired engines will do that to anything in the combustion chamber, you may be blaming the WMO and your engine is worn out...

Engine has 200K, far from worn out. Had the heads off in March, 180K, still has the cross hatch, injectors and GP's clean-no oil. Doesn't burn a drop of oil. Will do a compression test one day.

So your cylinder have no wear taper after 200,000 miles...

Never said that, there is a tiny amount there but not enough to worry about. I've seen a hell of a lot worse. I know where your going but mechanically, there is nothing wrong with my engine. Prior to the WATF running, it was fine, even the piston tops were clean.

Km's, not miles.

A member on my other forum had them machined open, and put the pop pressures up to 2800. Some of the old Mercedes and other diesels have the same open injector, supposed to reduce or eliminate coking. I'll know in a bit, going to run through 2 tanks then pull one for inspection.

A friend has a machine shop, so going to make a few sets, one for spare, another for a customer and sell a set.
