Can I fit these 05 SD seats into my 83?

An air ride cab has bags only in the rear with shocks and the fronts are pivot points. That is a full air ride cab.

I have an '05 Dodge Ram Seat in my '97 and a '99 Dodge Ram Seat in my '93 and I am in the process of getting another '05 Dodge Ram Seat for my newest aquisition - the '96 crew cab. I know those aren't the '83 body style but, I could take a few pics and send them to ya. I can tell you that they are kinda tight are width but, I like them anyways. I bought the '99 seat first and it had on 88k on it and a very small guy driving it for $200.00 and I bought the '05 seat off of CL . It has a couple of minor cig marks in it and I got it for $75.00 delivered from over 150 miles for free. The seat I am in the process of getting now. Another identical '05 Ram Black 40-20-40 cloth is about 120 miles away and the guy is meeting me about 30 miles short of his place for $150.00.... And they do sit higher in the cab too. But even with my size. It is just fine with me. I too - like the taller ride heighth....

Ok well I was looking at conitech's website yesterday they sell kits for bigrigs but their kits put air on the front as well I've been away from big rigs for a few years I didn't know if this was now the norm

Well - IDK - I wasn't trying to be a smarta** or anything. I am on my third Kenworth and that's how they have been. Anyways.... I have never seen a truck with air on all 4 corners though. I would like to see one. Always willing to learn.... Hope ya didn't take it that way....

I went in 86/87 for Auto/Diesel Truck Tech. Aug. '86 to Apr. '87.... Accelerated course. Double phased. Did 2 yr Assoc. in 9 months....

I haven't ever seen the new school. Have a good friend in Indy that works for the city. In the bus garage. Second Shift Foreman.... Went to LTI too...

I have a '99 dodge ram seat in my '93 f250 also and absolutely love it, especially the console. The only complaint I have, like you said, is the total width. Can't really get to the lever that adjusts the back of the seat with the doors shut, but thats really no biggie.

The big trucks that I have seen seem to have the bags on the rear only. If you watch them going down the road they bounce up and down on the rear and pivot at the firewall.

The only one that I know of that had bags on all 4 corners was a late 70's early 80's era Ford Cab-over. These had 2 huge bags behind the grill and 2 smaller ones at the back of the cab. Gave a really funny ride. The bad part was, when the leveling control malfunctioned, the cab would lean over, and then right itself, and lean the other way. Not the best design.....
