Cab mounts

Hey Guys,
I need your input on which cab mounts I should buy. My brother bought the Energy suspension set through LMC, but has anyone had any experience with the Prothane set?
On Ebay the Prothane set is about $20 cheaper than the Energy suspension set.

Well, when you consider how well $1 hockey pucks do, I would imagine the cheaper prothane set would be a good bet. I've always been appauled by the prices energy suspension charges just because they are the only game in town. It/s nice to see that they have some competition now

Just wondering, if you're not lifting the truck, what is the advantage of polyurethane body mounts over rubber mounts? What disadvantages are there, if any? I'm guessing more road noise would be transmitted with poly mounts?

For one thing, if you have a turbo, you make sure that you maintain your clearance. Squishy rubber body mounts can have a turbo and a downpipe playing kissypoo with the firewall

^^^ Yep thats exactly why I'm going to be replacing mine. I know they have to be shot, even in a low mile truck those OEM mounts only last for so many years.

Prothane makes all the mounts we use for vw stuff. They have been doing it for years. No problems.
I got my energy suspension from summit for the best price 4 years ago. may be worth a look.

The energy suspension type bushings are harder than stock. You will get more cab flex and creaking with them. However, I suspect they will never need to be replaced again.

Yeah, the rubber mounts dry-rot, crack, and squish over time. The poly stuff will last much longer and keep the body lines where they should be. But, like said above, they won't absorb as much vibration or road chatter as the rubber ones.

With the roads in this state it really does not matter what mounts you use. SOunds like steel on steel anyway

that's kind of the situation I have. They rigid mounted the aftermarket bed and it makes the frame so darn stiff that it doesn't matter what the cab mounts are made out of, there is still no flex up front.
