The issue started this winter, I though I simply had a bad alignment at first, the steering wheel was tilted 2-3 degrees to the left but one day suddenly it was tilted to the right a few degrees.
Now that it's spring time and the roads are truly disastrous with the thaw, the issue got worse, if I hit a rough patch & the suspension works hard the steering tilts a bit, either left or right.
I just replaced the I-Beam bushings with an energy suspension urethane kit and it still does it, the old rubber ones weren't bad but had mismatched bolts, 1/2" instead of 14mm which gave them about a 1/16 of play inside. I inspected the radius arm bushings visually at the same time and they seem fine, they're urethane and not that old. My gear box barely has any play, maybe one degree of tilt left to right with the engine off.
The truck is not lifted in the front (yet), I just have 2" blocks between the rear axle and leaf springs.
Tie rods seem good... so where the heck does this bump steer issue come from? any clues?
