prerunnin, save the steering box out of that van, its the same as the trucks. Even if it leaks it is a good core.

steering box/fuel tank/rear axle/front i beams are all out and in my shed. the plasma cutter took a **** so i havent got the motor out yet :(

I just want to point out the pistons are different on the factory turbo. Not only does it fit a larger wrist pin, but uses a keystone top ring design, and an anodized surface. The compression is probably different too.

Compression is not different, its the same, my 83 model 6.9 rods with atock compressoin held fine to all my abuse

It looks like your donor engine has chrome valve covers on it. Am I seeing that right? I almost had that done to mine when I did the head gaskets. thought it would look pretty good.
