Thanks guys and with that PSI quote I had already planned on an intercooler. Now I think that if I control the intake heat and keep the egts down then the goal of 25 should be easy. My only problem so far is that I need an exhaust manifold shaped like the drivers side on that is for the passenger side. I really don't want to move the vacuum pump. PS does any one know what it takes to make this engine us the serpentine belt setup? Agian thanks and you guys be safe out there this weekend.

I want in on this more boost thing. I have had my f250 94 idit for 2 months. It was a hideous forgotten about truck with flat 20 year old 16.5r tires that were flat. Got it cheap. Well its slow and lacks power going up hill, although the trans is a rebuilt electronic aod, i installed. That is why its was cheap. I am making 12ilbs but occasionally 13ilbs of boost flooring it going uphill. I know about the fuel screw on the standyne pumps but mine is stuck. Any ideas all, i am all ears. Any hauling tips i am running 2857517 tires, wasn't looking forward to gong any lower.

Is yours a dually or 4x4? Mines a srw 2wd and 245/75r16 doesn’t look bad. Little shorter and wider than the 235/85r16 the door jam calls for. Your fuel screw probably isn’t stuck. They’re stiff to turn or yours has already been maxed out. For more boost, you’ll need more fuel and much more than you’re pushing now, probably an intercooler. Is it studded?

Couple things here, if the fuel screw is tight it’s already maxed or sheared from the last gu who was in there, but you are making a good amount of boost already. What are your egts when pulling? Is the exhaust and intake stock? You mentioned that the truck was left forgotten for a long time, have you changed the fuel filter and run a good fuel cleaner?

X2 on what Thewespaul said.

Timing and fuel delivery make or break these. I got mine and it could barely get out of it's own way. After a new filter and correctly timing the Injection pump it's a COMPLETELY different truck. You might just be fighting with neglected maintenance items. Start up a new thread for your problems so we can help you better. And welcome to Oilburners!

15 psi current used to run 20 in my stock 7.3 idi non turbo block. 90cc and stage 1’s with ats 093 with banks compressor housing and 60-1 wheel and Cx racing intercooler. Timing has been in check not over advanced and I don’t just plant my foot to the floor. Cylinder pressure is your enemy for blown head gaskets and boost numbers are just numbers. Over fueled over advanced motor will have high cylinder pressures compared to a slightly retarded 6-7 degrees, less fueled motor.
