So today I picked up my spare Banks turbo that got a new seal kit and hot side wheel.... I asked about any shaft bearing upgrades for it in the future... Nope. Way too expensive to do that but.... I can have just about anyturbo installed on that manifold. Seems the designation T3 only refers to the collecter manifold and most any turbo will fit that.....;Sweet So... Having a Mitsubishi turbo that we really can't get parts for from Banks or anybody else, I can change it out to maybe a Garret or whatever I want. All T3 turbos will just bolt up.... I guess when a door closes (Banks) and window opens up somewhere else.;Sweet:D

No... You really didn't "see" a kit. All that was for was what you saw in the picture. There is plenty of stuff besides the turbo thats required to be called a "kit". What was listed cost me $1100.00 2 years ago from Banks.....

That's good news. The next question is...........what turbos are on the list? Should we as a brotherhood try and start a list in the FAQ's/Tech section? Does anyone know of suitable T3 manifold turbos?

Any T3 collector will bolt up to the Up Pipes. You could use any turbo You wanted. You'd just have to fab an Up Pipe.

I don't really understand what you're saying.

I said it was a turbo FROM a banks kit.

What they sold was a cartridge, no up or down pipes, no crossover pipe, no oil feed or drain, no intake, not really a "kit", just a part.

I am using a waste-gated turbo from a DT466E but it is not a T3 exhaust housing. There are all kinds of turbos out there with a T3 exhaust housing. Just about anything from the ricer crowd has a T3 foot. It would not be hard to make a simple adapter to adapt the T3 footprint to any other turbo housing you wanted as well. I would think if you were going to make big power with these engines you would want to get away from the T3 exhaust housing and go to something that has lots of options and can breath better like a T4. You could always just use a holset on there, those things are starting to get pretty cheap. HX35 or even an HY35 would do good, the HY35 would spool a little sooner, but with more heat.
