the truck my turbo came out of has the gauges, but the pyro did not work.
is there a way to test the pyro to see if it works?ohm's reading or somthing?
i'd hate to lose the motor because of a false reading, not to mention what a PITA it would be to change after its in the truck.
also is all that heat shielding on the down pipe and firewall still avalible?,if so do you really need it?

I think you will get an ohms reading, no idea what give it a try. You could give Banks or Autometer a call and see what they say.

Most of the time the gauge and thermocouple are fine and there is just a bad connection between the two. Of the three turbo'd trucks I bought the pyro never worked on any of them. I just cleaned up all the connections and presto all three work now. :D The two connections to check are off the pigtail of the thermocouple and on the back of the gauge. Hope that helps.
