Probably as a result of Ray's glowing review, I've been getting more requests for pumps like what I did for him, which is just a high quality stock spec pump rebuild. Since there seems to be a good bit of interest in this, I figure I should give that pump a name, and since Ray already used it, I'll go with it. This would be known as a Baby Moose Pump. I've amended my original add for the Moose Pump in the Marketplace to include this version. So individuals interested in avoiding the problems Ray had with unreliable third parties can have a reliable alternative on the board.

Yea ok, if you say so but...my "Baby Moose Pump" gave my 7.3 some nice perky Moose Balls and a hairy chest!

Any Idea on approx cost? My IP isn't bad that I know of but I wouldn't know if it was so I was thinking of freshing it up in the near future!

I asked Mel about doing a standard rebuild several months ago, and here's his reply...

"A standard rebuild is not much cheaper than a Moose Pump. It takes about the same amount of work to do both, and only a difference in cost of around $50. It depends on the condition of the pump, but prices have been averaging $550 to $650. - Mel"

However a high quality stock rebuild is probably more useful for the members without a turbo since all that extra fuel delivery will just be smoke for a NA engine.

A fresh IP and injectors with a good timing job makes a world of difference.

Not to hijack the thread but what do you mean by good timing job. I have the meter and the tools and a good amount of knowledge. Is there a calibration machine that sets it dead on like a dwell machine does on a gasser. Or do you just pick the timing you want to run, set it there, drive it.

Well by a good timing job, I mean using the right tools and knowing how to use them. A lot of guys have paid for a timing job only to find later that it was set by ear, and by the time I look at it is is no where near close.
