Axle ID

This fellow is local to me, has these axles for sale, and has no idea what gear the axles have, is there any id on the axle for him to see?

Originally there was a metal tag on one of the diff cover bolt's that had the ratio on it.

might be able to get the stamp code on the axles and find out

If the original tag is missing off the diff covers, then the build code on the axle or pull the cover and read the numbers on ring gear.

Turn the hub and count the turns of the driveshaft yoke. That's the ratio.

This only works if the diff is positraction. Doesn't work very well for open rear ends.

With the whole axle sitting on a pallet, you should be able to turn both hubs at the same time.

Or have someone hold one wheel, turn the other and count yoke turns - you just have to multiply by 2 then to get the actual ratio.
