anyone ever use a 97 E4od on an IDI?

my brain never quits thinking.
i found another 94 IDIT at a buddys.
really thinking about dropping the 500 bucks he wants and throwing this PSD auto on it, and building a drag truck.
i have access to a 41 ford.

will this PSD trans bolt up?

yeah it will work.you just need to use the 89-94 solenoid pack and the 89-94 4 stud diesel converter.
(2wd to 2wd/4wd to 4wd or 4wd version in 2wd truck with t-case for a set of low range gears.)

same applies to the 98-'03 E40D (remaned to 4r100) as well.with the changes noted above but also includes swapping front pump to early version (or possibly installing the on/off thingamajig [edit:4R100-LU] from transgo instead?) along with the shift linkage swapped out to older style (and disregard unused sensor.)

i dont expect this to be a 10 second ride, but i want a diesel hotrod.

i love this military i have, but id rather have a 40's ford.

who knows, i may build it, i may not, but one thing is for certain, i will have a 30/40's diesel hotrod in my future.
