Another random question- Fuel heater delete

So random question as I'm putting together my very long list of engine stuff. I was planning on deleting the fuel heater using the 1/2 pipe plug method. It occurs to me that this would be a good opportunity to install a fuel pressure sensor in that location with a 1/2 to 1/8 bushing (or whatever the pressure sensor is).

Is that an appropriate location to measure fuel pressure?

Thoughts?

it's not needed.if there is a fuel starvation issue,you'll know it because we've got a "fuel filter" light that will trigger.we don't need but just 1 psi or so at WOT to feed the high pressure ip.
if that light never flickers,run 'er.

don't get me wrong,im all for monitoring vital things with gauges but too many gauges trying to monitor unnecessary things simply becomes a distraction from the road at some point.

Nope... This is only the inlet side of the fuel filter so if that is the side you want to test then its ok. But most want to know the pressure on the outlet side. That tells you how plugged up the filter is getting. As the filter plugs up the pressure drops. When you demand more fuel from the filter like a full throttle pull usually the filter light comes on if the filter is plugging up. That electrical sender on the outlet side of the filter head is the sensor that tells the light there is a vacuum now in the feed line. We can purchase and install a before and after pressure valves. They are called delta T and delta P gauges. They help you see the pressure drop across a dirty filter. They are expensive.

Thanks Gary. While input pressure is useful, the pressure to the IP is what matters so that is a no-go.
