if you buy the correct fan controller it will do it all for you. mine is programed so one fan turns on at one temp and the other fan turns on 10 degrees hotter then the first temp setting.

OK guys, I'm finally back at this project. I bought 2 Hayden 3653's and 2 relays. My plan is to have the thermostats trigger the relays.does that sound right ?

Yes, though you really could have just used one to power both fans. You really don't need a high low setpoint

At 75mph weighing 9,000lb on an 80f day I have not seen coolant go above 200f. It's typically 190 to 195f. It was 70f the other day, I had about a 6k trailer behind me at 65mph and it never got above 195f. All with ac on the whole time and a giant intercooler radiator in front of my radiator too. I did see sustaintial heat soak, pre turbo intake temps of 140 to 150f with an intake that actually pulls below radiator so I purchased a cowl hood to use as a vent to hopefully reject the heat upward rather than down and below truck. Just gotta get a couple hours to paint it.

Got a pic and source for that cowl hood? I'd like to get one if it looks alright:dunno

I got home today and decided to put it on. I'd recommend you guys have a friend help you with these hoods they are decievingly awkward to remove and install by yourself. I did it without knicking any new paint but it would have been 10 times easier with a helper. I havent driven it yet so i dont know how much it cooled under hood temps but ill be sure to let you know. I like the look of it, not too agressive and not just a plain flat cowl.

Thanks for all the info, really like the look of that hood but its one of those things just don't have the money for as much as I would like to have it:rolleyes:

That's what you have to do with a bricknose if you want a steel cowl hood. Otherwise, fiberglass cowl or ram air hoods are about $600-$800.

I drove it around today and found the cowl hood dropped turbo inlet Temps approximately 30 degrees and intercooler outlet Temps around 15 degrees. I think the pipes themselves were getting heat soaked.
