Got a top view of that mounted? I'm debating making a shroud when I have a go at it and am wondering about boxing the top and bottom, or just bolting a flat plate in place of the factory fan shroud.

I don't have any pics on my phone of it finished or the wiring and relays. I did use standard automotive relays to power the fans rather than rely on the internal relay to make contact. All power leads have 40amp inline fuses and and we're run in 10gauge.

I see what ya did there. You have the one of them fancy aluminum radiators My stock replacement aluminum one (Spectre maybe?) Has a inch or so gap between the top of the stock shroud and the underside of the tank. I might have to make a shroud with a run of angle on that top part to enclose it.

This definitely needs to stay a low buck conversion. Maybe I can upgrade later but for now I just need them to work.

Does anyone know how to wire the windstar fan for 2 speeds? The smaller fan only has 2 tabs, the larger fan has 3 so I'm assuming it's a 2 speed..? The factory plug for the larger fan only used 2 tabs, so I'm not sure if it is actually a 2 speed or if it just has an extra tab.

I think I'm going to just keep it simple and have them both come on at the same time, on high, triggered by a single controller and 2 relays..

If the thermostats/controllers are adjustable, set them up to kick on at the same time, thenadjust one to a slightly different temperature. You'll find that when both fans kick on full blast at the same time that your electrical system will take a hard hit until they spin up. This way your basically setting it up as a soft start.

he's got the 3G alt,so he wont notice anything for electrical draw.......though that's still wise to set it up like that.

I have a 130A 3G on Bruiser and would still get that hard, sudden dimming/power draw when the JDM fans kick on. It was BAD with the single 3.8L Taurus fan, even at cruising speeds.

I have a 250amp, I run 6 electric fans, an electric fuel pump, an electric coolant pump, plus glow plugs at start up when warmed and I have no issues. I could hear a slight serpentine belt squeak sometime when ac was on too but I replaced with a shorter gatorback and thay fixed the issue

what kind of alternator and where did you get it?

BNR makes them. Fit fine with all factory connectors. I ran a 2 gauge wire from it to the battery. The pulley is a little smaller so I ended up having to run a slightly shorter belt to keep the tensioner at half tension, with the factory 111.5" belt there was only about 1/2" of tension on it and it would squeeze at start up. I went with a 109.8" belt and it fit great.

So, how do the dual fan controllers work? Do they kick them on at different temperature? I've looked at a few and they typically only have one temp range so I'm wondering how that works..

Just use 2 fan controllers. 2 probes. 2 relays
